On Christmas day Jake and I woke up at 6am and did our Christmas then we headed to his parents house to open the gifts they got us. At 10am Jake's dad's side of the family came over for breakfast. We then headed to my parents house for a light lunch. By 5pm I was exhausted and ready to head home for the night. We had such a wonderful day seeing family, opening our gifts, and eating a lot of good food. I can't believe that next Christmas we will have a six month old!

Christmas Eve...
My new rocking chair for the nursery.
This year for Christmas Eve, Jake and I spent the evening at my parents house. We had dinner, opened our presents, then watched Christmas Vacation ( the greatest Christmas movie ever! ). It was very relaxing since every year on Christmas Eve we usually go to my grandparents house, but we are not doing that any more. We are starting this new family tradition.

Baby Update...
Yesterday, I went to the doctor for my 13 week check up. Everything looks great! We heard the baby's heartbeat with the doppler and it was beating about 160 bpm. He took my weight, blood pressure, and did another urinalysis. This visit I only had a few questions, unlike the last visit when I had about 15 questions. I am feeling a lot better. I am not as tired as I was, not much nausea, and I haven't thrown up in a couple of days! I will be starting my 2nd trimester on Sunday, December 28th ( yahoo ). My next appointment is on January 26th, I will be making my ultrasound appointment at Millcreek Imaging on this day for later that same week to find out the sex of the baby!!! I will keep everyone posted.

Annual Carsey Christmas Party...
Everyone taking their shots
On Saturday night it was the annual Carsey Christmas party. This year it was at my parents house. My mom and I were busy all day getting the house ready and making or picking up all of the food. We had delicious sandwiches, salads, shrimp, bruschetta, fruit, and all sorts of other food. My grandma made her awesome banana nut bread and rice krispy treats for dessert. After we were done eating, all of the girls in the family exchange their Christmas decoration gift that we all buy for each other. Then all of the little kids exchanged their gifts. As the night progressed, my cousins, my brothers and my aunt decided they should take a shot ( of alcohol ). One shot led to four shots! It was a fun night and everyone had a good time with lots of laughs, football watching, and eating. By the end of the night I was exhausted!!

Thanksgiving...
This year for Thanksgiving Jake and I spent the day with his family. We rotate families every year. We ate some great food and watched football! His parents friends were in town from Arizona and so it was nice to see them and catch up. Later on that night we went to my parents house for dessert. On Saturday night my mom, dad, Kyle, Kellen, Courtney, Jake, and myself went to a movie, we saw Four Christmases. The movie was very cute and got us into the holiday spirit!

Baby Update...
On Monday Jake and I went to see our doctor. Everything looks great! I am now 9.5 weeks along and still am very nauseated and tired. Hopefully this all goes away in the next couple of weeks. We saw the baby's heart beat ( by ultrasound ) fluttering away at about 120 beats a minute, probably one of the most exciting things I have ever seen! The doctor also did a urinalysis and some blood work to get a baseline. My next appointment is on December 22 so I will keep everyone posted.

Zermatt Resort...
On Friday night Jake and I went to Zermatt Resort and Spa, in Midway. His work had a investment recognition event there. It started at 6pm with drinks and introduction then we had dinner. The dinner was buffet style: salad, salmon, prime rib, pasta, and potatoes, just to name a few. Around 9pm everyone headed to their rooms (that were paid for by Wells Fargo), went swimming at the indoor pool, or just relaxed. It was a very nice evening, the dinner was delicious, and the rooms were fabulous! It was great to get away for a night.

My Sweet Husband...
These past two weeks have been very crazy but exciting, here at the Jordison house. I found out last Monday that I am PREGNANT!! We are so excited!! We have been trying for about six months and it finally happened. I am seven weeks along and my due date is around the 28th of June. I have an ultrasound on the 24th of November so I will know more then. I went to see my doctor on Thursday the 6th and so far so good. I am a high risk pregnancy due to an incompetent cervix, but so far things look great. I have been feeling very nauseated and extremely tired. So my sweet husband brought me home this beautiful flower for the new mom to be.

Happy 75th Birthday...
Yesterday afternoon, Jake's parents had the whole family over to celebrate his grandpa's 75th birthday. Jake's grandparents are leaving to Palm Springs on Tuesday. They live there for the winter which is about 6 months. So it was nice to celebrate his birthday and to say goodbye until Christmas. Jake's grandparents are so great and a lot of fun to be around! We will miss them!

T-ville Alumni Game...
Kellen catching
Last night Jake and I along with my mom and dad, went to the Taylorsville alumni game. They have the game up at the new Kearns field. For the last several years they have been doing this game along with a camp for little kids, a home run derby, and a golf tournament to raise money for the Paul Buck and Marshall Gates foundation. John Buck comes and brings some of his buddies from the KC Royals to help out with the camp, be in the home run derby, and be in the golf tournament. My brother plays in the game and is also in charge of the camp and plays in the golf tournament. Kevin Gates and John Buck are the founders of the foundation in honor of Paul and Marshall. All of the money that they raise goes to two summer league baseball teams, called the Marshall's and the Buck's. My brother coaches both of these teams and takes them all over the country to play in tournaments. The kids are hand picked by my brother from high school teams all over Utah and Las Vegas. The majority of the kids get college scholarships to great schools. They also give some of the money to less fortunate kids in the area who can not afford things such as; baseball equipment and uniforms. It is amazing how much money they raise for the foundation every year!

College Football...
This weekend my brother Kyle, came home from school for fall break. So everyone went over to my parents house to watch college football (especially the Utah game). Go Utes!!! They beat Colorado State and are now ranked #11 in the BCS standings. After the game was over the boys went out in the street to throw the football around and my mom and I took the dogs out to play in the yard. We all had a great time and had some delicious food too! It was great seeing my brother since it has been a couple of weeks that I last saw him.

CrAzY CoRn MaZe....
Courtney and Kellen
Last night, Jake and I and my brother Kellen and Courtney, went to the Crazy Corn Maze. We started off by going through the scary part of the maze. None of us thought it was going to be scary but it was! They had a couple of chain saw guys that jumped out of the corn and sacred the crap out of us. Then we went through the maze part. They gave us a map to follow and some questions to answer when we found the numbered posts as we made our way out of the maze. There were some parts that we sort of lost our way but shortly made it back on track. At the end of the maze we gave our answered questions to the people at the ticket booth and we only got two wrong. They gave us a bunch of dinner coupons for our efforts. The boys thought this maze was going to be dumb but at the end they said they had a great time! Of course, Courtney and I had a blast!!

Early Birthday Part 2...
Tonight my mom, dad, and brother Kellen came over to our house to watch football and the Yankee's game. My mom made homemade chili in bread bowls and brought it over for dinner. She also brought me an early birthday cake. The chili was awesome, like usual and the cake was delicious too! Thanks everyone.
Congrats to the New York Yankees on their final home game win at this Yankee Stadium, they will be moving across the street next year.
Body World's 3...
couldn't take my camera inside, so this is the best I could do.
Today Jake and I went downtown to The Leonardo at Library Square to see Body World's 3 and the story of the heart. This was one of the most fascinating things I have ever seen! It took about a hour to walk through the entire museum. We saw human bodies and organs that were real and belonged to living people at one time. All of the people and organs were donated to science. Everything went through what is called plastination, a 1,500 hour process to preserve the bodies and organs. All of the bodies were in poses to show the different muscles that were used in that particular pose and they had normal organs and organs with tumors. It was very educational and amazing, even to myself, who is in the medical field. Jake also thought it was awesome.
Early Birthday...
Last night Jake took me to the Oyster Bar-Market Street Grill for my birthday dinner. My birthday isn't until Thursday but Jake is going to be gone Friday until Sunday hunting. The Oyster Bar is one of our favorite places to eat. The food is always delicious! After dinner we came home to finish watching the football games and he gave me my present early also. He got me a black Roxy hooded zip up jacket that is lined with wool and has the Roxy sign on the front of it in bright colors. It is so comfy and warm! Thanks babe for an awesome early birthday!

Dining Table...
This is my new dining table that we bought over Labor Day weekend. I have had my eye on this table for quite some time now. My old table was glass, only seated four, and was very small. So we needed a table that was bigger and seated more people. We just happened to go into RC Willey and they had the exact same table for $300 less than the other place that we had been looking. It came with the table and four chairs, but I wanted eight. So when we went to check out they gave us the chairs for $88 a piece instead of $129. We figured that we saved almost $500 buying it at RC Willey during the Labor Day sale!

Greek Festival.....Opa!
Danny, Kellen, and Jake.
My mom and her friend Bonnie.
On Saturday, September 6, 2008, my dad, mom, brother Kellen, his roommates Trevor and Danny, Jake, and I went to the Greek Festival. My mom and dad's good friends are Greek and help run the festival every year. We ate some great food, drank some beer, and watched some dancing. My parent's friends daughters dance in the festival every year too. We were there for a couple of hours and then headed home to watch the Utes and the Florida Gators play football and the UFC. Go Utes and Gators!! I was very disappointed that Chuck Liddell lost, he is my favorite. I think this is the end of the road for Chuck. We all had such an awesome time.

Friends Baby Shower
On Saturday August 16, 2008 I hosted a baby shower for my friend Dani. She is having a baby girl in September. Dani and I went to scrub tech school together then we both started working at St. Mark's Hospital doing hearts. In January 2007 I hired her to be an assistant with me. So I have known Dani for about 7 years now. One of the doctors that we work for was nice enough to let me have the shower at his house, since we invited about 40 people and my house was not big enough. I served a lite lunch then we opened gifts. Luckily it was a great day outside and we were able to use the patio and backyard.

Overholt and Magana Wedding
On Saturday August 9, 2008 we went to our friends Sean Overholt and Mekensy Magana's wedding. They have dated for a few years now and when Sean started dating Mekensy it was so funny because she was on drill team with me, she dated my brother, and I have know her and her family for quite some time. What a small world!! Sean was one of Jake's college roommates and played baseball with him at the U of U. Sean and Jake have stayed close friends and golf every Sunday. So when they started dating and she would come hang out with Sean and our friends, I already knew her. They got married and had their reception at La Caille. They wedding was great and Mekensy looked beautiful. We had such a blast!
