On Sunday July 5 I started to have bad back pain and pelvic pressure. Around 11:30pm I had Jake take me to labor and delivery at St. Mark's, I couldn't take the pain any longer. My contractions were 5 minutes apart. We got checked in and hooked up to monitors. My contractions were 5-6 minutes apart but very strong. I was still dilated to a 1! They called my doctor and he told them to give me a shot of Morphine and send me home so I could get some sleep and I would see him at my appointment the next day. Monday morning comes around and I start getting the same pains but my contractions are 3-4 minutes apart. My appointment was at 3pm so I thought I would stick it out till then. I had Jake leave work early so he could take me since I was in no condition to drive. I get to his office, having contractions in the waiting room! The nurse calls me back and immediately my doctors says you are having this baby tonight so you need to go to labor and delivery. We get there and again they get me hooked up to the monitors, start an I.V., and get my Epidural in. At this time I am still dilated to a 1. My doctor comes in and breaks my water and loosens the scar tissue around my cervix from my previous surgeries that was keeping me from dilating. Within 2 hours I was dilated to a 3+. After about another 3 hours I was dilated to a 9+. I was very surprised that I dilated on my own with no Pitosin! Around midnight I started to push. I pushed for 2 and a half hours with no progress. My doctor came in and had me push for him a couple of times to make sure I was not progressing. Which I was not. He also tried to turn the baby since she was looking up, instead of down, so her head was stuck in my pelvis. So at 2:30am we decided to do a C-section. She was born at 2:55am at 9lbs. 3oz. and 21 1/2 inches long.
